The Newcon Sentinel LRF (640) Thermal Rangefinder Binoculars are designed for tactical use by the military and law enforcement. They have both a thermal sensor and a laser rangefinder built in. The 640x480 pixel thermal sensor has a sensitivity of <55 mK at f/1.0 and an operating wavelength of 8-14µ. Thermal images are received through a Germanium 75mm f/1.0 lens. The detection range is 2500m (~2700 yards). The laser rangefinder can range a 2.3x2.3m target out to 3000m (3280 yards) with an accuracy of ±1m. It can measure elevation angles to ±60°. Physically, the Sentinel LRF (640) weighs 48.5oz without the 6 AA batteries required to power the unit. The battery life is 8 hours of continuous use. The body is waterproof to MIL-STD-810G specifications.
